High-precision mold factory manufacturing cannot do without electrical processing
In recent years, the mold industry has developed substantially, and the requirements for mold accuracy have become higher and higher. High value-added molds, such as micro-connectors, IC plastic molds, LED molds, etc., have become very popular mold varieties in the market. Although the technology of high-speed milling for micro-machining of molds is constantly improving, the use of EDM to process the fine parts of high-value-added mold parts has always occupied the main position in processing.
The core of precision EDM is mainly reflected in the requirements of dimensional accuracy, profiling accuracy, and surface quality.
The processing size should be strictly matched, and the requirement can reach ±2–3μm;
The profiling accuracy requires clear edges and corners, and the R value of the bottom corner should be as small as possible (generally, the R value is required to be less than 0.02mm);
The depth error of the flatness from the edge part to the center part is within 2μm;
The surface quality requires uniform surface roughness, Ra should be less than 0.4μm (VDI12), or mirror processing is required, and there is no abnormality on the surface under microscopic inspection;
The edges of the discharge inlet and the corners of the opening are complete, and the burst value under microscopic inspection cannot be greater than 0.015mm.
